Our Java team focuses on doing cutting edge work, there by reemphasizing Aditi’s focus on emerging technology areas. The expanse of Aditi's Java practices extends across a large number of industry verticals, such as services, government organizations, pharmacy, finance, and telecom. The elite teams of Java developers at Aditi have been effective in developing products using Java concepts, and these products have been instrumental in shaping today’s business landscape.

The Java team has adopted core J2EE for their practice, and focuses on open source technologies and frameworks. Further, our Java team follows an Agile model of development, providing additional flexibility to the customer on issues such as project features, scheduling, and delivery.

The design methodology concentrates on Domain Driven Architecture, and places a strong emphasis on testability. In order to enhance product stability, all projects follow test-driven development with automation in the areas of functionality and performance. The Java team works on J2EE 1.5 compliant technologies, and employs a wide array of popular and stable open source frameworks, such as Core Java with Design Patterns, Struts, Tapestry, Springs, Hibernate, Lucene, JMX, JMS, EJB, Servlets, JSPs, JTA, and JDBC. In addition to this, we have an emerging practice ervice Oriented Architecture for our newer enterprise clients with existing legacy systems.


Java Centre of Excellence
Aditi has formed a Java Centre of Excellence (CoE), which comprises of senior architects with significant Java experience. The focus areas of the Java Centre of Excellence are:

• To conduct research on the emerging web trends and platforms
• Investigate problems faced by our clients, and provide long term, scalable solutions
• Evaluate various platforms, tools, and products to optimize code and productivity
• Train and evangelize Java technologies
• Design and develop frameworks and tools for problems faced by our clients
  

Some of the companies we have worked with are:
The Grameen Foundation, where we served as an R&D partner, and helped design and co-develop Mifos, a management information system that helps Micro Finance Institutions improve operational efficiency of micro credit operations. Mifos was listed amongst the Top 100 IT Innovator products in the 2006 NASSCOM survey. The application is a database as well as server/operating system neutral, enabling medium to large scale clustered deployment, and has extensive financially critical modules along with complete internationalization and various reporting requirements. The application uses frameworks like Struts, Hibernate, clustered EHCache, open source app server (Jboss/Tomcat), and database (MySQL). The product is now a functioning open source project with high-level active participation.

A white-labeled corporate alumni community platform, where we were instrumental in the development of their social networking application. This feature-rich application focuses on managing alumni portals for various enterprise customers, and provides modules for member profile, careers and opportunities, events, blogs, wiki, individual business promotions, and Google open APIs. The application utilizes a content management server along with frameworks such as Struts, Springs, Hibernate, Lucene, JMX, BIRT, and SSO using PingFederate. These frameworks are deployed on a Redhat Linux environment.

A leading drugstore chain, where we developed an end-to-end third party Receivables Management system. The project involved the creation of operational and reporting modules for the drugstore chain, such as carrier management, store management, billing, payments, reconciliation, and analytical reports. The system had heavy data loads and required high availability, using Db2 (Database) as well as WebLogic (App Server) clustering. Other technologies used include EJB 2.1, JMX, JMS, and an in-house proprietary MVC framework. The application is deployed on an AIX environment.
